HARBOR CITY INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

Harbor City International School

Duluth Minnesota

Harbor City Charter school occupies the third floor of an 1860 industrial building in the central business district of Duluth Minnesota. The innovative design of the school provides a small, learner-directed community that encourages investigative learning, global citizenship and nurtures a sense of belonging. Large expanses of glass were used to pull natural daylighting into all reaches of the class rooms and common areas.

The school was awarded 2nd place for new school design world wide in 2002. The project was realized in collaboration with Architects William Scalzo and Randall Fielding
